RTR – Position Coupler with Rod

INSTALLATION:

1 – Peel and thread the end of the reinforcing bar using INCON’s threading machine.

2 – Completely screw the smaller sleeve of the RTR Coupler into one bar.

3 – Align the second bar with the coupler while maintaining the allowable gap.

4 – Rotate the longer sleeve and the lock nut in the opposite direction until the connection is fully secured.

CONFIGURATION:

RTR Coupler is composed of two internally threaded steel tubes of different length but with the same thread size. A threaded rod and two lock nuts are used to connect the two sleeves together and to secure the mechanical splice.

MAIN APPLICATION:

RTR Coupler possesses the same features as RTP Coupler but provides more tolerance and allows multi-phase construction (e.g. shear wall to slab connections).

Features:

Satisfies the requirements of Type 2 couplers for use with Grade 60 reinforcing bars.
Conforms to major building codes and standards including ACI 318, CSA A23.3, BS 8110 and DIN 1045.
Easily installed and highly efficient for connecting bars of different diameters on site.
Accurate splice length control due to the precise coupler joint.
Compact design of the coupler to reduce reinforcement congestion.
