ITRT – Position Transition Coupler with Rod

INSTALLATION:

1 – Upset and thread the end of the reinforcing bar using INCON’s forging and threading machine.

2 – Completely screw the smaller sleeve of the ITRT Coupler into one bar.

3 – Align the second bar with the coupler while maintaining the allowable gap.

4 – Rotate the longer sleeve of the coupler in the opposite direction until it completely accommodates the threads on the other bar. Secure the connection by tightening the lock nut.

CONFIGURATION:

ITRT Coupler is composed of two internally threaded steel tubes of different lengths. The thread size in the longer sleeve is constant, while the thread size in the shorter sleeve is variable. A threaded rod and lock nut are used to connect the two sleeves together and secure the mechanical splice.

MAIN APPLICATION:

ITRT Coupler possesses the same features as ITR Coupler but is used when the bars to be connected are of different sizes.

Features:

Satisfies the requirements of Type 2 couplers for use with Grade 60 reinforcing bars.
Conforms to major building codes and standards including ACI 318, CSA A23.3, BS 8110 and DIN 1045.
Easily installed and highly efficient for connecting bars of different diameters on site.
Accurate splice length control due to the precise coupler joint.
Compact design of the coupler to reduce reinforcement congestion.
